Hilton Head dolphin tours are a dime a dozen and you have many Hilton Head dolphin tours to pick from, but we are the only boat tour that will introduce you to a real mermaid in the wild. You could call it dolphin watching with a magical twist that adds adventure and fun, while still providing a relaxing time for adults. So set sail with us for the most entertaining, educational, and eco-friendly dolphin watching and mermaid finding tour in the world.
Our boat holds up to 30 people and is covered to keep you out of the hot sun and is low the the water so you can see the dolphins, a mermaid and other wildlife. If we happen to get caught in the rain (which is rare as we keep a constant eye on the weather), our boat has the ability to become enclosed so our guests don’t get drenched while dolphin sighting. Being that the boat is covered and offers shade, this also insures that you don’t overheat on a hot summer day.
The boat we use for dolphin watching and mermaid finding is also very spacious, which means when we find wildlife along the way you will have plenty of room to get up and walk around to make sure everyone in the family has a view. We encourage you to bring your cameras, as there is no telling what we will see when we are out on the water - every tour is different. We usually find dolphins, birds and of course a mermaid! Sometimes while we are dolphin watching we also come across manatees, sea turtles, sharks, and even Mr. Charlie Lurksalot, a local alligator.
Hilton Head dolphin tours are a lot of fun, but none of them compare to this one. Our tours are fun for the whole family with a unique, magical, mermazing twist to the usual Hilton Head dolphin tours.
Hilton Head Island is such a great place to go dolphin watching. We have around 170 resident bottlenose dolphins who would love to meet you during your Hilton Head vacation. Mermaid Nina is a former dolphin trainer turned anti-captivity activist, and she knows a lot about dolphins. She spends all day, every day in the water with them and knows the dolphins in her pod better than anyone else. If you want to learn about dolphins in general as well as our local dolphins specifically, there is no one better to learn from than one of their close friends! Each one has a name and Mermaid Nina loves to introduce her new human friends to her dolphin friends who want to meet them.
One really awesome behavior that our local dolphins exhibit is a hunting technique called strand feeding. While it is rare to see this behavior where there are so many other Hilton Head dolphin tours, the dolphins will still perform this behavior for us every one in a while. Stand feeding is when the dolphins strategically swim together towards the shore, creating a big wave, and pushing the fish on to land. The dolphins, in turn, strand themselves and grab all the fish they can before they wiggle back into the water.
The bottlenose dolphins love people watching as much as we love dolphin watching. They will very often come close to the Hilton Head dolphin tours to check us out. We know the responsible ways to go dolphin sighting and we respect all of our bottlenose dolphins and teach you how to have interactions with them in the wild that are safe for everyone. Our boat is close to the water, giving you a closer view of these magnificent bottlenose dolphins. There is nothing like a relaxing time on a Hilton Head Island boat tour with some bottlenose dolphins, and a mermaid.
The tour is based around the notion of becoming an O’fish’al Ocean Ambassador. By the end of this tour, you will earn your badge, and take dolphin watching to the next level. You will know everything you need to know to help protect the dolphins’ and mermaid’s natural environment and their ocean home.
Set sail with us on our dolphin tours complete with mermaid sighting and you will be glad you did. The experience of dolphin watching and mermaid finding combined with the comfort of our boat tour and a fun and relaxing time will not disappoint! Not to mention you might even learn a few things while you’re out there!
